Pat Murdough (he/him)

Pat is the owner and sole tattoo artist at Black Meadow. When he is not tattooing he is painting or altering clothing usually with a horror film playing in the background.

    Tattooing

Pat has been tattooing since 2005 and has always maintained a strong focus on large custom tattoo projects, especially with Japanese/Asian themes. Pat has also developed an affinity for Pointillism and Dotwork, as well as Bio-organic Horror Surrealism (a la H.R. Giger). Pat is comfortable working in both color and black and grey, and is just as happy to tattoo a large cluster of peony flowers and butterflies as he is working on a Japanese Oni demon sitting on a pile of skulls.

If you don’t know what to get, Pat also has several decades worth of his tattoo flash and pre-drawn designs available for clients to pick from or use as a basis for their custom projects.

    Fashion

Most Black Meadow merch (including hoodies and t-shirts) is designed by Pat. Through bleaching, dying and block printing Pat is also creating one-of-a-kind fashion pieces. He takes inspiration from classic and contemporary Goth/Industrial/Alt fashion as well as music, tattoo culture, and film.

  • Painting

Pat primarily works with liquid acrylic and inks, but also enjoys charcoals, pointillism, and colored pencils. While a lot of his work parallels his tattoo imagery, he also enjoys working in horror surrealism as an escape to the structure and rules of traditional tattoo art.

  • DJ Dagon

Pat is also known by his DJ handle, DAGON. He and Kate host their Darkwave Dance Party events throughout New England, with Babes Bar in Bethel, Vermont as their main location.

Pat began DJing at ‘Haven” in Northampton, MA back in the early 2000’s, and was a resident DJ at ‘Ulteria’ in New Haven, CT until moving to Vermont in 2018. Pat continued to DJ in Vermont and around New England, building a reputation as a favorite ‘live mix’ DJ, being one of the few club DJs who still take requests.

Much of what Pat plays at his events is on the dancier side of Industrial music (Nine Inch Nails, Frontline Assembly, Skinny Puppy) but also enjoys Darkwave, Post-Punk, Goth, and Synthwave.
